Wedgefest 2012 Merchandise

As usual the Wedgefest merchandise is a strict secret with goods only available at the festival. There is often a variety of goods available. I can tell you that this year will see t-shirts with e newly designed logo. This follows on from last years copyright scandal.
All logos used in this years imaginary festival will have been thoroughly vetted for originality. If they are found to be of questionable copyright their picture will not be uploaded to Facebook.

Wedgefest 2012 - Sold Out

Confirmation from the campsite that tickets for the 2012 Wedgefest have now sold out. For the fourth consecutive year it's a sell out festival. The two available pitches have been snapped up. As usual it's family camping, so no loud music at all please and in bed by 11pm, if not 10pm.

Wedgefest Rumours

Since the announcement of the location for the 2012 Wedgefest the rumour mill has been very active indeed. Of course these are all unconfirmed but this is what we've heard so far:
*the Leek Wedgefest is to be sponsored by Tena Lady
*there is going to be a new event - plumbing in a camper
*there will be a special screening of 'Carry on at your convenience' with its hilarious storyline centred around WC Boggs lavatory manufacturer.
*the cooking in a camper competition will challenge competitors to produce a 3 course meal with leek being used as an ingredient in every course.
*this years Wedgefest saying will be 'wedgefest in Leek - pure pish by the way'

Who knows if any of these are true?

Wedgefest 2012

Exciting news about this year's Wedgefest. Although the blog hasn't been active for a couple of years, Wedgefest certainly has.
Last year saw a right royal extravaganza that celebrated the Royal Wedding in some style. The 2011 festival was located at Bala in Welsh Wales. Well Wedgefest 2012 continues with the four letter location. Drum roll please....... The 2012 location is Leek.
Stay tuned for all the events and activities that are planned for this. More info coming soon but you can expect them to be very much Leek related.

And remember if it's not a T25....it's rubbish.

Cooking in a Camper - Details Released

Hot off the press are the details for the cooking in a camper competition.  This will run over two consecutive evenings.  Entrants have to produce a meal for 6.  No precooking is allowed and no microwaves or slow cookers should be used.  Entrants should cook the meal on the standard two rings and grill available in T25s.
The competition will be judged on weight of leftovers, number of people retiring to be sick, food refused by festival mascot, Kizzy dog and finally food refused by Jim....
Any ingredients may be used however the final meal must be suitable for a supertaster.  The meal must be produced and served in one hour and only need consist of a main course.
The coveted title of Wedgefest Cooking in a Camper Winner will be accompanied by a stunning trophy, specially designed for this years event.  Those taking part must leave a comment on this blog prior to the festival to ensure registration as places are strictly limited.

Wedgefest 2009

In 2009 the Wedgefest event was staged near Lancaster which was an excellent base for the cruise to Blackpool and Morecambe.  Here we have just two examples of the pristene T25 vans that attended last years event.  As you can see everyone turns up in a freshly washed, sparkling VDub for this event.  I'm sure either of these vans would stand an excellent chance of winning the first ever Wedgefest Show and Shine Competition.  This will be held on the Sunday morning of the weekend.  The prize will be announced nearer the time.  We like to keep the suspense going.....
Remember this is Wedgefest, so the clue is in the name. T25s are the star vehicle for this event.  Of course we are inclusive and if you wish to bring your rusty, poorly appointed old Bay then it's up to you.  The snearing and ridicule is just friendly banter.  And we know you wont be able to cook much in your Bay due to the poor facilities but I'm sure the site shop will have Pot Noodles available for the length of the festival.
